Conspit Ares 20 Platinum Direct Drive Wheelbase
The Conspit Ares 20 Platinum is the flagship of the Ares direct drive line, built for drivers who demand maximum torque, precision, and endurance-session reliability. Its dual skewed-pole direct-drive motor produces 20Nm of peak torque with under 2.3% cogging, reproducing kerb strikes, load transfer, and grip loss with full intensity while staying smooth and controllable. A 23-bit high-precision optical encoder delivers sub-0.01° angular resolution, and a torque slew rate up to 9.5Nm/ms ensures instant response to in-game physics. Advanced high-frequency thermal management and an aerospace-grade CNC aluminum housing maintain consistent output through long stints. Available in the standard CDP quick release version or the CDR quick release version, with POGO magnetic expansion and deep tuning through Conspit Link 2.0 including presets from professional racing drivers. PC only.

Things to know
- The two versions are mechanically identical apart from the quick release: the CDP hub is Conspit's Formula-style 7075 aluminum ball-lock design, while the CDR hub uses the 50 mm bolt pattern most of the industry has standardized on.
- Third-party wheels with a 70 mm bolt pattern mount to the CDR hub using Conspit's 50–70 mm spacer adapter, sold separately.
- A 2025 Conspit Link firmware update raised the Platinum from its original 18 Nm rating to the current 20 Nm — early stock needs the update applied to reach the rated torque.
- Active cooling is the main hardware step up over the Ares 12, which relies on passive dissipation; it holds torque steady through long stints but the fan is audible in a quiet room.
- At 7.9 kg and 20 Nm this is a rig-only base — the M6 bottom and M8 side patterns need a rigid profile mount, and Conspit's angled bracket and front-mount bracket are separate accessories.
