How the RSS marketplace works
Ready Set Sim is the venue. Private sellers list their own gear and ship it themselves; we verify who they are and that they hold the item, hold the buyer's payment until it arrives, and step in if something goes wrong.
Buying
Every listing is verified before it goes live
Before a listing publishes, the seller sends us photos with a single use RSS code handwritten in frame from three angles, the detail shots that category requires, and the serial number. Many sellers also add a walkaround video showing the same code. Our team reviews that submission. It proves the seller physically holds the item and that it matches the listing. We never see, handle, or test the hardware ourselves.
The condition grade is the seller's
Sellers choose from a five point scale: Brand new, Like new, Used - Excellent, Used - Good, Used - Fair. They write the notes that go with it. The grade describes cosmetics and completeness; whatever a seller picks, the item has to be completely functional and fully usable, or it cannot be listed at all. We show the grade as the seller's declaration, never as our finding. Read the notes and the photos, and ask the seller a question on the listing if anything is unclear. Answers are public.
Your payment is held until delivery
You pay Ready Set Sim, not the seller. We hold the funds while the item ships and release them to the seller only after it is delivered and the claim window has closed.
The seller confirms they still have it
Within 24 hours of your payment the seller has to confirm the item is in their possession and ready to send. Only then does their 3 business days shipping clock start. If they don't confirm, we cancel the order and refund you in full without you having to chase anyone.
3 days to report a problem
If the item never arrives, arrives damaged, is missing parts, or isn't what the listing described, open a claim within 3 days of delivery. We review the evidence from both sides and can refund you in full or in part out of the held funds.
Items are sold as is by the seller. Ready Set Sim does not warrant condition, remaining lifespan, or fitness for any particular use.
Selling
Match your item to the RSS catalog
Pick your exact model and the listing inherits its specs, original price, and compatibility data, so buyers can check it against the rig they already have. Can't find it? Describe it and we'll attach the right product during review.
Declare the condition honestly
Pick from Brand new, Like new, Used - Excellent, Used - Good, or Used - Fair, and photograph or describe any flaw the grade mentions. The scale is about cosmetics and completeness. Whatever you pick, the item must be completely functional and fully usable. Broken, faulty, or for-parts gear cannot be listed, at any grade or any price. An accurate declaration is your best protection if a buyer opens a claim.
Prove you have it
We issue you a single use code. Write it on paper and photograph it in frame with the item from three angles. Adding a short walkaround video showing the same code is optional, but it's the fastest way through review. It takes a few minutes and it's what makes buyers trust a stranger's listing.
Confirm within 24 hours
When your item sells we email you straight away. Confirm that it is still in your possession and your 3 business days shipping clock starts from that moment. If you've already sold it elsewhere, say so and we refund the buyer immediately. Don't just ignore it, because an unconfirmed sale is cancelled automatically and counts against your account.
Ship within 3 business days
Once you've confirmed, we email you a prepaid label, or you can use your own as long as you give us a real tracking number. Ship on time; repeated late shipments cost you your selling privileges.
Get paid after delivery
Your payout is released once the item is delivered and the buyer's 3 day claim window closes. It goes to the bank account you connected through Stripe.
